A new challenger has entered the arena – please welcome BadoinkVR. Quality is consistent throughout videos – the resolution and stereo separation seem great, certainly better than early attempts by other studios. There had been some rumors on Reddit that the videos weren’t actually in 3D – not true at all. I did have some problems with frame rate, but this could have been my system. Ease of Download and Playback
With a high quality Oculus formatted download coming in at 3.4GB, my download speeds from their server maxed out at about 2Mb/s, for an average download time of 30 minutes per movie. Playing the movies was a little more difficult, as no explicit instructions are provided other than “use LiveViewRift or VR Player”. Both require specific settings for 180/360 3D content which aren’t detailed in any help file. In fact, I’d recommend virtual desktop, for which the standard 180/360 3D settings appear to be all correct and preconfigured – just right click on the movie file and hit “Play in Virtual Desktop”.
Compressed downloads are also available optimized for Gear VR’s Milk player, and a lower quality one for any generic Google Cardboard compatible device.
Subscription fees for a single month access are quite high at almost $30 – but drop to only $100 for a year, putting long term subscription cost in line with other major VR porn players.

It’s great that we’re now seeing some of the bigger players like Badoink enter the VR market, as competition can only lead to better quality VR porn all around.
